My name is Macky Philips and I am currently a third-year doctoral audiology student. I graduated from The University of Colorado in 2015 with a degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. I joined the Central Auditory Physiology lab during the summer of 2016 to begin my capstone research project with Dr. Sanchez. My project is focused on finding a differential diagnosis for individuals who have difficulties hearing in background noise despite having normal hearing, termed “hidden hearing loss”. My long-term goal is to provide assorted audiology services in a hospital or research setting, where I can continue contributing to the future of hearing-health care. My clinical interests include patient education, aural rehabilitation, and diagnostic audiology. Outside of class, I enjoy hiking, bike riding, and playing tennis.
