Hey! My name is Ann, and I am a third-year student majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in human communication sciences on the pre-medicine track at Northwestern University. I am from Matteson IL, which is a southern suburb of Chicago. I joined CAPLab in January 2023 after taking classes that exposed me to electrophysiology and the auditory system. My long-term goal is to enroll in an MD Ph.D. program in order to become a physician-scientist. I will be working with Ph.D. student Kristine McLellan to explore the potassium channel properties of neurons in the nucleus magnocellularis of chicken embryos and to determine how neurotrophin exposure affects cochlear nucleus neuron phenotypes. I hope to write a senior thesis related to this study. In my free time, I like to scroll through TikTok, knit, play video games, watch anime, and listen to music.
