Central Auditory Physiology Laboratory

Alexandra Brockner

I am a second year graduate student in the Doctor of Audiology program at Northwestern University. I completed my undergraduate studies in Communication Science and Disorders at Florida State University. My first introduction to conducting research came during my senior year of college when one of my professor’s challenged me to complete a senior thesis on a project I expressed interest in. This experience gave me the confidence to pursue my research interests in graduate school, where I’ve worked as a research assistant in two separate labs. I recently joined the Central Auditory Physiology lab to continue building upon previous investigations into the phenomenon of “hidden hearing loss” and potential bio-physiological markers. My clinical interests are broad and include vestibular science, adult and pediatric diagnostics, electrophysiological testing, and aural rehabilitation. In the future I hope to work in a medical setting providing evidence-based care and contributing to improvements in audiological practice through clinical investigation.
