My name is Kirstie Wade and I am an second-year Audiology student. I graduated from the University of Chicago in 2012 with a degree in Anthropology and worked for 2 years prior to applying to graduate school. My research interests are in neuroscience and computational neuroscience and I will be working in the Central Auditory Physiology lab with Ting Lu and Kanika Gupta to develop a model of Kv1.1 potassium channels in bushy cells of the avian nucleus laminaris for my capstone research project. I am a member of the Northwestern Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) and in my spare time I enjoy walking around Chicago, hiking, listening to music, reading, and any kind of arts and crafts activity.
