2024

In March 2024, Kailyn McFarlane successfully defended her Ph.D. Dissertation. She will become a Research Project Manager in the Sound Brain Lab under Dr. Bharath Chandrasekaran at Northwestern University. Congratulations, Kailyn! 

In January 2024, Kristine McLellan’s F31 titled “Uncovering the functional effects of neurotrophins in the auditory brainstem”, accepted by the NIDCD, officially began funding. Congratulations, Kristine!

2023

In November 2023, Ann Lamptey was admitted into the Northwestern Education and Undergraduate Research on Neuroscience (NEURON) program. Congratulations, Ann!
In August 2023, George Ordiway successfully defended his Ph.D. Dissertation. He will become a postdoctoral scholar under Dr. Sarah Woolley in the Zuckerman Institute at Columbia University. Congratulations, George!
In Spring 2023, Ann Lamptey received the Northwestern University Summer Undergraduate Research Grant (SURG), which will fund her to study the effects of neurotrophins on the excitability of auditory brainstem neurons. Congrats, Ann!
In January 2023, Momoko Takahashi successfully defended her PhD Dissertation. She will become a postdoctoral scholar under Dr. Gabriela Caraveo-Piso in the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. Congratulations, Mo!

2022

In November 2020, Sandesh Mohan joined the lab. Welcome Sandesh!
In August 2020, George Ordiway and Kailyn McFarlane successfully defended their qualifying research projects for the Ph.D. degree and along with their completion of required coursework, they are now doctoral candidates. Congrats, George and Kailyn!
In January 2020, George Ordiway received the ARO Travel Grant Award for ARO 2020 in San Jose, CA.

 

2019

In July 2019, Momoko Takahashi successfully defended her qualifying research project for the Ph.D. degree and along with her completion of required coursework, she is now a doctoral candidate.
In July 2019, The Central Auditory Physiology Lab was awarded an NIH RO1 Grant from NIDCD.

Samantha Sophiea-Fairmont was accepted into a competitive yoga teacher training program for summer, 2014. By the end of this intensive program, she can teach everyone in the lab yoga!

In March 2014, Michaela Ritz was selected to be a peer adviser to incoming freshman for the 2014-2015 school year.
In February 2014, Sedona Speedy was accepted to Feinberg School of Medicine through the Northwestern Premedical Scholars Program (NUPSP).  
In February 2014, Danielle Pierre was selected to be a campus delegate to the Qatar campus on an ambassador trip funded by the Qatar Foundation, which aims for cultural and educational exchange, as well as raising awareness of  NU-Q. After visiting the campus in March, between March and May Danielle assisted in the planning and organization of the NU-Q students’ visit to the Evanston campus.
